On November 26th, 2024, I met Ethan—a beagle born in a breeding facility that supplied thousands of dogs to laboratories. He was one of the 4,000 Envigo beagles rescued in 2022, adopted once, then surrendered 2 years later with no toys, no records, nothing but a tattoo and a second chance. That tattoo told his story: a life that began as a commodity, not a companion. In the year since he came home, Ethan has taught me that every animal deserves more than survival—they deserve love, dignity, and freedom. Sanctum Paws and Fangs exists because of him: premium products for the pets we cherish, and every purchase funds our Humane Science Blueprint Mission to end the industry that created dogs like Ethan in the first place.
